The apparel technical-pack checklist
What a clothing technical pack needs before sampling, factory RFQs and production approval.
Make the design measurable
Translate the concept into front and back drawings, construction notes and measurable points. State measurement units, tolerances and grading rules. AI-generated concepts are proposals; a technical designer must confirm construction and producibility.
Build the material and decoration specification
List main fabrics, trims, thread, labels and packaging in the bill of materials. Include composition, GSM, finish and approved substitutions. Specify decoration dimensions, position, print separations and colour standards instead of relying on a screen colour alone.
Control versions and samples
Number each approved version. Link sample approvals, shade and print references to that version. Do not authorise cutting until the buyer has approved the actual pre-production sample and the associated specification.
